Mainly a drummer, but also played guitar for almost 20 years. Been a pro engineer for a couple years back in the 90's, but now am merely a hobby engineer on my own stuff. Have recorded with authentic C12 and Neumanns, but can't justify the price of that caliber mic on a personal budget. Now I use Audio Technica 4033 and 4051 for most of my detailed recording attempts.
Currently using a Digimax D8 into a Firewire 1814 with Ableton Live 7. Monitoring with Event 20/20P.

No better stereo mic for the price. Makes for simple stereo recording with decent results. I took the mic apart and removed the inner mesh from the mic. This opens up a lot more "air" to the mic. You'd be amazed how restrictive that mesh is. You may be surprised that the capsules are mounted with plastic/rubber. But, for $100 what do you expect. The stereo cable supplied is of decent quality as well. Ranked a 9 considering the purchase price. Either a pair of 4033 or 4051 sound better, but require more setup time and phase consideration, not to mention the cost of several hundred dollars over this mic. Worth the difference? Depends on your budget and your ears.
