Reviewer Background :
Beenworking in music since I was about 10 years old. Still at it 52 years later. Mostly a live gigging musician but with a lot of pro studio experience in the USA and UK.
Currently using an old Allen & Heath desk into a hard disk recorder and of course a DAW. *sigh*
Monitoring is via Tannoy dual concentrics powered by a Quad 405 amp.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a large capsule, side address, multi pattern condenser mike.
It comes also comes with a -10dB pad.
It is also delivered in a neat aluminum pseudo-flight case and has a wind sock AND a decent quality elastic mount included in the price.
Construction is as good as any other chinese mic I have seen and according to Red5 they set their own specs AND do their own quality control in the UK.
What I love is that (for UK customers at least) they will ship you the mike on sale or return - try it for up to fourteen days and if you don`t like it, you get to return it for a full refund.
What I like is that it sounds way better than it should - certainly better than the Rode NT1 it has replaced for most projects.
What I don`t like is that it still isn`t a vintage C2...
I have only ever used it on three or four different vocals (both amle and female but it gives a honest, clean sound with none of the thinness I got from the Rode on female vox.
