I am a pro harmonica player, playing for 35 years, but just over 16 gigging.
This is my main performance mic. It drives the amps that are then mic'd or lined to the boards when recording.

As my remembrance recalls, this has the same guts as the Astatic. Designed for harmonica players. It is compact, light, very easy to use, and gives a great sound. I have the 1/4 jack, so an ordinary guitar cable works great; which then goes into almost every amp.. It is hi-z, but not real hot. I do not have to use a line transformer with it as I do with other hi-z handheld mic's.
Very versatile...it even works as a muddy vocal mic, giving a unique sound to songs like Bo Diddley's "Pretty Thing".

The Shaker Dynamic is designed for harmonica players. Looks a bit like a salt shaker, hence the name. It is a dual impedance mic, and works well into either PA or guitar amps. I suggest using an impedance convertor when using guitar amps.
The mic is designed to be cupped in the hands along with the harmonica. It has a volume control to help avoid feedback. I have the model with the XLR fitting, which I recommend.
This little mic gives an excellent Chicago Blues tone, either into the PA or an amp. The sound is quite warm & bassy, if a little muffled, It is easy to cup if you have smaller hands, unlike the traditional harp players choices -Shure 520 "Green Bullet" or Astatic's JT30.
If you are looking for a good harp microphone on a budget then this has to be on your list of tryouts. compact, easy to cup, with a warm bluesy tone, less prone to feedback than the more traditional mics.
