Reviewer Background
:
I'am making music for 25years and I got a pretty good recordng experience even if I dont know many microphones. I am in use to record on a computer based multitrack recorder, interfaced by an Edirol FA-101 audio card ... ed some electro-harmonix tube preamplifiers for the microphones

Its the SEElectronics top-class pencil microphone, I own two of them. I already owned also a large diaphragm Rode K2 condenser mic, very good for the vocals but quickly I realized that it wasnt so good for acoustic guitar recording. In every book in fact they reccomended a small diaphragm microphone...
So reading and reading on the internet I realized that these SEElectronics promised the best quality/price ratio.
While I found insufficient to capture an acoustic guitar with a single microphone, later I discovered that the result is perfect when two of them are used as stereo pair with the X-Y technique.
I get very very good results ... these microphones are very good and also beautiful looking ;)
I also found good to use one of them in front of my guitar amplifier speaker, when you have to catch less bass (example for the rhythmic parts)
Also the two switches on board (-10db attenuator and hipass filter) are really effective filters that doesnt add colourings to the sound.
