Sound quality
Sound quality is very hi fi set Flat you get a very good spectrum of sound with full warmth bottom end and clarity in the top. I have tested two monitors in stereo with a range of vocal/band CD tracks they performed extremely well. These monitors feature a 16 position voice modeler see features section all very usable live, giving you control locally on stage situations. Live I tried various settings all good with lots of power in hand.

Overall
Two months in and very impressed with the sound quality great definition. These are very powerful very small light monitors. I tried the 10 and 8 inch in a store. The 10 inch was noticeably better in the bass response but only when compared in stereo together. I am impressed with the overall design, but have the following issues. One of my three monitors developed a fault after two gigs, this was a loud arcing sound from the circuit board. I sent it back and it was repaired (a dry joint on a rectifier capacitor). Its now fine but I was not offered my postage back from the agents for Alto in the UK. The finish that looks so tough is not, the black splatter paint finish is glass hard and on a very thin coat of paint, and the slightest scuff just takes off the beads of black paint. Even picking them off the floor has worn the corners to the ply. I am also concerned that the ply is not of the best construction. If you tap the ply sides it sounds as though the thin top layer has started to delaminate in places. My only design criticism would be the control knobs on the back panel cannot be seen by the artist and the mains cable and XLR connections are also vulnerable to dancers feet, after a couple of sherbets. Great concept and Italian design let down by Chinese quality control. But they do sound great.I would buy again.
