General Questions : 7
I use these powered 2 way (12" speaker and a horn) as a DJ front of house for small rooms and as floor monitors for my 5 piece Island/Buffett style band. If the room is small I might use them as FOH for the band as well. Do not compare these to Mackie 450's, JBL PRX's or QSC HPR's (killer speakers!), etc. They just can't take the heat or go as loud. However, they are inexpensive, lightweight and fairly loud for their size and price point. I have used them in a medium sized venue with my Mackie subwoofers which takes the 100hz pressure of off them. The low end will get freaky if you push them too hard without a sub. I use them a lot for smaller venues and boats (I hate boats!!!) because of the ease of transport and the satisfactory sound quality and volume they put out.

Technical Specs : 7
It is a self powered speaker rated at 400 watts (Bi-Amped, 300w low end, 100w for the top end). That is up for debate. Don't expect Crown or QSC power here but then again, if the room isn't too big they perform nicely. They have XLR and 1/4 inch inputs which is a nice option for just plugging in an mp3 player for cocktail hours or wedding ceremonies.

Sound Quality : 7
Do not expect huge low end out of these speakers. You will get decent low end in a smaller room but use a sub in a medium sized room. Coverage area is good for about 150 people at about 100 feet. Not a wide coverage area but great for the price. I set these at around 2 to 3 o'clock and they will go pretty loud before the clip light kicks in. The low end will get floppy once you start hitting chest pounding volume levels.

Easy to use handles, polemounts and can be tilted for use as a floor monitor. I am also a musician as well as a DJ so they make nice floor monitors due to the fact that you can tilt them on their side and they are self powered. That eliminates the need to lug around another power amp. Just daisy chain them together and the quality is nice if you don't need to put a lot of stuff in your monitor mix. I will put sonme kick drum and keys with the vocals and they seem to hold up nicely. Even for an Island band we play pretty loud and I can still hear them nicely.

Overall Rating : 8
This product has performed extremely well for it's size and price. I have heard other similar priced passive and active speakers and they sound like rancid crap compared to these. They say you get what you pay for but I would say you get about 50% more than you pay for with these speakers. I would not hesitate to buy more and leave a few on some of the stupid boats that I have to DJ on. You can also use 2 on each side for a little more coverage with minimal moving effort. Once again, not JBL's but a great value for the money.

2 way plastic box speaker that can be used as a floor monitor. We've all seen the type so no use me going into more detail. Does everything I need in this type of arrangement.

Technical Specs : 10
All the tech specs are on the Behringer web page so I won't repeat them. Again, has everything I was looking for.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
My guitar tech suggested getting a PA instead of a dedicated accoustic amplifier, and I took his advice. For half the price I was intending to pay for a AER Compact 60, I now have 2 B212A's placed as floor monitors. The sound quality is excellent for this application.

Features : 10
Does all the things I want.

Overall Rating : 10
I was originally considering much more expensive options such as EV's which were 3 times that price. I'm glad I made the decision to buy the B212A's. I plug straight into the mixer (Eurorack 1602), run a Behringer REV2496 rack mount reverb on Aux 1, and a Behringer MDX2600 rack mount compressor on the mixer Main Inserts (The Eurorack is more than 10 years old and doesn't have track inserts).

For a relatively small outlay this configuration 'kicks arse' and I couldn't recommend it more highly enough for someone wanting to do something simular. The only thing I need to add is a good rack mount EQ and will probably go Behringer as well, althought there is some hesitation as the DEQ2496 seems to have a bit of a track record of problems.

However, as you can see I've got a fair bit of Behringer gear, and haven't had any problem what so ever. I highly recommend the B212A's on the logic that the money saved and spent on other gear will give an overally better result with money still in the pocket.

2-way active speaker. 12" woofer. Small. Light. Hybrid.

Technical Specs : 10
Powered. Bi-amped. 250w RMS (400 peak, though that's a pointless stat). 2-band EQ on the back. 1/4" and XLR connectors. Mic preamp included so it can be used with a dynamic mic. Small. Light (36lbs or so).

Sound Quality : 9
It sounds wonderful. Lows are strong, mids are clear, highs sparkle. Covers surprisingly well, and only gets sort of hairy sonically if you turn it up too loud (past 3 o'clock on the gain knob). Things get a little cardboard-sounding. Truly, though, nothing in its price range even comes close. It's like an SRM350, but with a bigger speaker (and better low-frequency response) and a lower cost. And since they're now both made in China, why would one bother to pay an extra $400 just to have the Mackie nameplate?

Features : 10
Handles on each side, can be tipped on the side in one direction. If you tip it the other way, and the XLRs will hit the ground. I doubt the other reviewer realized this fact - it's only really designed to be tipped one way. If you tip it the right way, the XLRs have plenty of clearance. Flyable, pole-mountable. Shockingly good for the money, and seems really tough, like it can take a beating. I wish it had a little better thermal design (seems like it could be a problem, being fanless and all), but I had the B300 before, and that thing never failed.

Overall Rating : 10
Used it as a stage monitor for bass, guitar and vocals (I run a Bass PODxt or POD X3, depending on the gig). Got a clear, balanced mix from it that was plenty loud (I found myself turning it down on a number of occasions) with no feedback issues. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it sounded, and impressed with how loud it was. It KICKS for a little bugger.

I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great powered speaker in a small package, and I would certainly buy it again. I'd buy a bunch of them. I'm actually considering getting a few more Behringer powered speakers to replace the Carvin POS-sorry, PM15A speakers that failed me miserably (and cost twice as much).

I wish it had multiple inputs, with individual level control, a mid control with sweepable frequency (it would help make it sound even better being able to dial in mids) and I wish it had a switchable passive option with independent input and thru jacks, in case the internal power amp takes a dump (which is unlikely, but I think the flexibility would be nice). But as it is, I like it a whole lot.

This thing is awesome in every way - it's compact, it sounds great, and it does what it's designed to do...give great, super-portable sound for very low cost. It sounds like I'm kissing Behringer's ass, but the reality is, I'm a picky bastard, and this thing even impressed me.

This is a 2 way active PA Speaker, that is sort of wedge shaped and can be used as a Monitor if tipped on its side.

Technical Specs : 7
It has a 12 inch speaker, 1 inch compresion tweeter , and a plastic housing. Ive seen it rated as 400-450 watts. It is heaveyer than comperable items made by other manufacturers.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Overall sound is good for a DJ that plays hip hop type stuff. I use it as a monitor for my electric guitar. Its not the best for my use, Because the bass responce is HUGE! I had to turn the bass down almost all of the way to achive the sound of a guitar and not a bass. Playing my guitar through it with the bass and treble at the mid point actualy caused it to rumble and it wanted to dance around on the floor. And please keep in mind that this is NOT a light weight speaker! Major Bass responce. No sub needed!

When compared to a JBL EON, the clearity and definition of individual notes in a strummed chord was not there. For less than half the price of the JBL, I can live with that, no problem. Im no pro, just an hobbiest having fun.

Features : No Opinion
This speaker has a 1/4 TRS input and an XLR input. They can not be used at the same time. It also has a volume, Treble and a Bass control. As well as an XLR Line out for DI into a PA or daisey chaining speakers together. It has handles molded into each side.
The speaker tips onto its side, so that it can be used as a monitor, but when it is used this way, it rests against the XLR cable ends. Not the greatest design. Couldnt they see that when they prototyped these things. Dohhh.

Overall, This thing has plenty of power for a good sized room. Not 400 watts worth, but if you were seated in front of it in a concert setting, It would be very un-pleasant.

No, it doesnt quite have the clarity of a JBL or Mackie, But you get 97% of the performance, at 40% of the price. The huge bottom end frequency responce bugs me, but probably wont bug you if you are using it as a PA.

It has a few little issues, I wish I could plug into both input jacks, I wish it had mid control, I wish it was shaped differently on one side that the other so I could select different angles for it to sit at, and I wish they would have protected the knobs and input jacks so they wouldnt be beat up by normal use. A form fitting case of some type would be sweet also. But, When you have expensive taste and a small budget you buy the B212A. It will always be not quite what you wanted,,,, but almost. It is what it is and its a very cost effective alternative to the JBL and Mackie offerings.
