This might be a first review of its' type for H-C. These were purchased to use as in-ear monitors for onstage use. This is going to be quite a bit more common. Floor monitors and stage amps are being phased out in many live venues so that sound 'engineers' can have full control over the mix. These are very nicely made, high quality throughout. There is a big problem with these, see next categories below.

I'm not sure on all the tech stuff, but these are not true in-ears, more like 'resting slightly outside the ear' phones. Stereo 1/8" cable, 3 sets of silicone ear pieces, and a leather case, with magnetic closure that doesn't hold the case closed.

Here is the problem... very nice overall sound, but NO BASS! I'm a bassist...I'm using a pair of V-moda 'bass frequency in-ear headphones in my stage rig, and wanted to try the Bose in ears. The Bose are expensive, but not like the Shures or Emotyic's. These phones can't handle even 'normal' amounts of bass. My $15.00 (Ebay new) V-moda's KILL these phones for my usage. This should be noted here and anywhere a musician needs to see what these in-ears actually sound like. I have compared the Bose's to Sony's, Sennheiser's and Phillips 'turbo bass' in-ears. All of these cost me $25.00 or less on Ebay. Every one of these pairs (except possibly the Sennheisers) of in-ears out performed the Bose for bass or bass heavy monitoring/practicing.

Not suitable for anything beyond an Ipod upgrade in my opinion. I don't think these are suitable for musicial - monitoring use. Buy the V-moda's or the Shure's if you can afford them!
