Before purchasing these monitors I did some extensive research and listened to dozens of monitors. I wanted good studio monitors for my home studio, to listen to music with, produce and mix for around, or under, $1k. Although my studio is by no means large, I did want sufficient volume and low-end. I've also considered Genelec 8020s (entry level Genelec), but found they lacked too much in the low end.
Studio monitor with 1" tweeter and 7" woofer. This monitor is meant for studios. Due to their size they are best used in a small studio or even home environment.

This is where this speaker truly shines. The sound quality is exceptional. I find them to be great for all my purposes. Whether I am listening to hip hop, death metal or blues or producing/mixing it won't tire your ears or sound 'wrong'. That was one of the problems with the Genelec 8030 (which was also a good option for me), I found that one to have great audio quality, but not as comfortable working with for hours. It sounded slightly 'sharper' to my ears.
The entire frequency range comes through perfectly. They can be extremely loud or soft and still maintain their quality.
When you are buying brands like Dynaudio or Genelec, there are no issues like distortion etc.

Obviously no one buys studio speakers for their mobility. You put them in a good spot and don't move them about.
They come in 2 fairly large 11 kg / 24 lbs boxes, that look a bit cheap (white cardboard with a black/white image of the monitors).
The overall design is simple, but nice. I will never put them on display in my living room, but they look A LOT better than those brightly coloured KRKs.

I can recommend these monitors to anyone that works with music. If you just want to listen to music I'd recommend getting good headphones, but for all the producers and musicians that work in a 'normal' environment: this is a GREAT product.
These monitors have in no way disappointed me, even after having them for a few months. Should anyone steal them I would purchase them again, definitely.
If you are in the market for studio monitors I do want to emphasise that you should listen to as many different ones as possible for a good period of time. Bring some of your favourite CDs alone to the store and listen to them. When you have a budget of $700+ there are few bad monitors, but there are differences.
Another 'benefit' that needs to be mentioned: Dynaudio is a big, popular name. Should you ever feel like selling or upgrading these speakers you will get a decent second hand price.
