Powerhandling and frequency rang a.s.o. youl can find at EV homepage. This is not interesting to me, since the performing is the main thing.
We use the 215 Eliminator boxes together with two 18" Eliminator subwoofers. An EV Q66 poweramp delivers the power for the two topboxes, and two Dynacord S1200 in bridge mode, feeds the two sub's, - with an active crosover in between ofcourse.

Wery lound and transperant sound in this constellation. The onley problem is, that the mid-tones from the horndriver is to hard and pennetrats everything. Muck like the sound from a megaphone used on marketplaces... The horn has a "long throw" but it realey does'nt sound nice and warm in my ears.

Boxes made from lightweight "roadwood". The design and materials is trustworthy, and rather easey to handle.
Great features - execpt from the sound in the mid-rangs.

No Opinion
This is a front of house enclosure with a single 15" driver and horn. It is a very deep enclosure, however I am sure there is reason to this due to the superb sound quality of this speaker.

It seems quite well constructed and only allows Speakon connectors in the back. They are rated at 350 - 1400 watts -most people I know run anywhere between 400-600 watts into them. The EV Q66 is a perfect match for them. They are pole mountable -I'd reccomend nothing less than a good 'ol heavy duty speaker stands a a freind to help you prop them on top considering they weigh 75 lbs. They use a 60x40 horn that has great throw... one thing that surprised me about these speakers was that they use the same compression driver as the Force series, however the high end from the Eliminator is more more bold crisp and smooth, definitely more appropriate for live applications. They are very efficient and dont require as much power to "light up" as most others in their price range. They also utilize "ring mode decoupling" which has to do with the way the speaker holds up when pushed hard. The grill is not screwed on to the front -it is attached allowing it to rattle far less and create less resonant sound at higher volumes. If EV could figure out how to make them smaller or lighter, then they might get an extra point... but hey, sound quality comes first -as I said before- there must be good reason they are the size and shape they are, so I'll only knock 'em one. Besides if you want lighter, go with a ZX4 or ZX5... even though, in my opinion these sound better than the ZX4. They are due for a little makeover though.

I have not heard a speaker in its price range match the quality of sound... or even come close for that matter. It is a very deep and wide well detailed sound with bold, but not overbearing high end. They are very easy to listen to and will not leave you with a headache after extended use.

They have handles and polemounts... another interesting point is that the face of the horn is in the shape of a square that can therefore be rotated if you want a wide dispersion. Ring mode decoupling allows these babies to drive like a porsche at 80 mph as opposed to a VW bug... thats the best analogy I could come up with for that... EV's primary goal seems to me to offer the best sounding box for the money... and forget about how huge and awkward it may be in the end -its all about the sound and its worth it. If EV cannot make it sound any better at its price point by changing its shape or size then they simply should not do it and leave it alone!

It is a remarkable speaker that I reccommend all the time! If it were destroyed and/or stolen -I'd wonder how in the world that happened... because carrying those speakers away undetected is no easy task. Then I'd go buy some more I guess.
