This is a full range passive speaker with built in crossovers. It's a decently sized speaker with a 600 watt continuous power rating. It's got 2 15-inch woofers with a horn designed for wide dispersion. It comes in just over 100 lbs and has built in casters with a handle on top that makes for easy wheeling around.

VERY IMPRESSED!!! I bought these from the local Sam Ash that had a nice test room. Before I even thought about these speakers I had my eye on JBLs and Yamaha speakers. However the guitarist in my last band had a nice set of EV's with great sound quality so I was definately open for trying these out.
These speakers were bought for my church playing double duty as a main for a camp band, and secondary fill speakers for main sanctuary. The #1 quality I was looking for was a wide dispersion (as well as tonal quality). We have been using a great set of Apogee speakers for the mains in church, but very directional. These fill that gap nicely giving an equal sound quality whereever one sits.
Comparing these to a JBL JRX125 or a MRX525, these absolutely blow them away. JBLs seem to be a bit midrangy to these. From the first moment you hear these you notice an amazing clarity on the high end but not a shrillness found with a lot of speakers designed to throw the sound out. The bass it tight and punchy. I use these with a Mackie powered sub which fills the low end nicely. You don't need a sub, but is a nice addition. I used a Breaking Benjamin album to eq and very little frequency altering is necessary. I pulled about 5-7 db out of the 40hz range just to give the amp a break, but I am using two QSC 2450s bridged mono and running about 50-60% gain. THEY ARE LOUD AND GO THUMP!

These are designed to sit upright on the ground to help carry the low end, but one room we played sloped up like an amptitheater and really needed to raise the speaker to get the horn up. Solution... put the speakers on folding tables. It really didn't take away from the low end. Just remember these are heavy though so make sure whatever you set these on can handle the weight.

Great overall speakers for my desired application and an absolutely great value. Would buy these again in a heartbeat! Smooth sounding and nice wide dispersion. Just an overall great speaker!

This is a 2-way dual 15" front of house main with a shaded low frequency driver on the bottom. The box design is similar to the design of a subwoofer enclosure giving the I-25 superb bass response. the box has a square depth to it and the grill is attached to the front (not screwed in)and does not rattle when pushed. It also includes wheels on the back bottom corner so you can dolly it around. The wheels do not rattle when the box is pushed hard also which is a plus. EV utlizes their ring-mode decoupling technology in this cabinet which reduces resonant frequencies and makes for easier listening over extended time periods. This speaker is great for both live and DJ applications, though I feel it fits best with mobile DJ applications where no subwoofers are used.

The cabinet is specified at 500 watts program @ 4ohms, it used to be spec'd at 600 watts. I generally recommend between 600 and 800 watts to power them. It has a one inch exit DH3 compression driver with 80x55 directivity. Its specified frequency range (-3db) is 46HZ -18kHZ. Its max calculated spl is 134 dB. It uses only speakon connections and weighs 106 lbs. (thats what the wheels are for). The handle for the speaker is also on the top of the cabinet for dollying and for grabbing and tilting up into a truck bed. The rest of the cool technical specs are stated above and will influence this rating.

By the way it sounds, they could easily go for $200 more per box. I have not heard a non-subwoofer enclosure put out the bass that this cabinet does. In fact it outperforms some subwoofers in that category. The best part about it is that you can push it to the limit and it will still retain definition. The high end of this box is quite smooth, especially when compared to the competion of JBL: JRX, MPRO, and MRX. I have seen people prefer this box to the MRX which costs 2X the money! Personally, I would only prefer it to that specific box for certain applications. I think the MRX is a huge improvement over the MPRO. However I would EASILY take it over a JRX, which in every way is an inferior box to the I-25. In fact, this box was designed after all of the other Force series cabinets were already out. It stands out of the crowd as far as the Force are concerned, the I-25 competes with their Eliminator line while the rest of the series cannot do the same.

If you don't want to bother with subs, and keep your setup minimal than its the cab for you, if you add subs -it will still work great considering the high end is still solid -but the Eliminator has a stronger push in the high/mid category and would suit a setup with subs better. Also, if you have a larger crowd and have no way of getting these up to where the horn is right above ear level, your coverage will be a bit more limited, there isn't really much that could be done about that unless you got a pole mounted cab. But if you wanted to get anywhere near the bass response you'd have to get a sub and probably another amp.
