Sound quality is excellent! The instrument switch on ch 1 is amazing, not at all what I expect for such a low cost amp. Really adds depth and clarity to guitars and mandolins. I tested it with a Yamaha Silent Guitar, Ovation semi solid piezo equipted Viper, Ovation Elite, vintage Ovation solid body Breadwinner (2 humbuckers), Fender Californian Sorento, Fender man(Strat)olin (import), Ovation USA mandolin, a custom 1986 (NUMBER 1) John Blogett Octave mandolin equipted with dual Shadow sounboard passive transducers, Schecter 12-string solid body with dual lipstick humbuckers; all sounded clear, clean and natural, EQ FLAT AT 12 O'CLOCK. Minor tweaks on bass and mids added beefy undertones to the mandos. 11 o'clock on highs for Fender mando reduced just enough of the brittleness while retaining the high end sparkle, 1 o'clock boost on mids made all humbucker guitars really punchy for rhythm work, 2 o'clock highs added pefect sparkle and glassy overtones on the Breadwinner.

Great portable design! I fit 2 in a soft over-the-shoulder luggage bag bought at a thrift store for 5 bucks and a 3rd fits in a large wheeled tool box with all my cables and "problem-solver" odds and ends. Mounts on a mic stand and has a top mount, supplied, mini mic-threaded adapter to attach a boom for use as a main PA for monitor or front of house for small, coffee house gigs with only 1 mic stand, VERY CLEVER design element!

Alright, so it sounds like I'm totally sold on this...BUT, I own 3 and have purchased 5 in the last 3 weeks, quality of the product, WHEN IT WORKS is freakin' amazing...but when it dosen't work, well, it just dosen't work! QC is apparently a problem! I will be returning another one tomorrow...1 had no output on ch 1, 1 had no output when the eq was tweaked, and now the third one...ch 1 sounds like the ocean, 2 and 3 are fine, but if I wanted surf sounds I'd have bought a conch shell not an amp. I will get another! These are amazing when they work just be prepared for 33 percent failure.
