General Questions : No Opinion
This RS10 is designed as a compact 2-way FOH main speaker. It includes a 10" speaker with a 1 inch exit compression driver. It is a wooden trapezoid box with carpet covering. The speaker is surrounded by a plastic face and is covered by a round metal grill.

Technical Specs : 6
It is a passive cabinet that rates at 125 watts continuous 220 watts peak. They seem to run well with 150-200 watts. The horn has a 60x90 dispersion. Their frequency range is stated at 60Hz to 20kHz. The max spl is calculated at 114 dB and the efficiency is rated at 93dB@1W/1m. It includes both speakon and 1/4" connections and weighs 33.25 lbs. It is relatively compact and weighs about what you would expect it to.

Sound Quality : 8
The sound from this speaker is more full than one might expect. Its surpringly full for its size and extremely full for its price. It is quite loud even though the efficiency specs seem to state otherwise. It is moderately detailed, but carries a strong high, mid and low spectrum. It sounds far better than fender passport speakers and/or most other speakers found in compact combo setups. It also sounds better than anything else I have heard at its price including larger speaker cabinets sold for slightly more. There are better 10" options out there, but they cost considerably more.

Features : 8
They are mobile considering their size, but they still have some weight to them. They have side handles and are pole mountable. On the RS15 I mentioned that the wood was kind of soft and that the carpet tended to come loose around the seams. Due to this cabinet being more compact, the problem does not seem nearly as frequent. It just holds together better and isnt packaged as tight. The RS15 is packed in a hugging shape set box with straps that warp the wood, the RS10 is packed in a rectangular box. It does better than its bigger brother inthis regard. It includes both 1/4" and Speakon connectors.

Overall Rating : 8
It rates high because of its price point, otherwise it is a more average speaker cabinet. Which is still saying alot considering it can compete with more expensive 10" models. Out of the entire Resound line, I think that this speaker has the best value. I think it is worth considering again if it were lost or stolen. They definitely do not break the bank.

This speaker cabinet is a 2-way trapezoid 15" speaker with 1" exit compression driver. They are wooden boxes covered with carpet and have a plastic face that surrounds the speaker which is then covered by a circular grill.

Technical Specs : 8
It is a passive cabinet that rates 225 watts RMS & 400 watts program @8 ohms. They seem to run well with 300-400 watts. The frequency range is stated at 40Hz - 20 kHz +/- 3 db. It uses the frequency lamp protection. They are average sized and weigh 51 lbs. They use BOTH 1/4" and speakon, which I think deserves a plus mark for verstility.

Sound Quality : 6
The speaker's sound is right about where you would expect it to be for its price. They cut well for their price. It is a little midrangy but it still covers the lows well. The highs are a little harsh but still push harder than other speakers I have heard at the same price. It has a solid "live sound" to it and are a good choice if you are looking to cut your vocals through a loud band at a moderate sized club show. They are clear at normal volume levels but get a little harsh when pushed -but not distorted.

The speakers have side handles and are again an average weight for a wooden box of their size. One of the main issues about the construction is the hardness of the wood and how well the carpet is glued onto the box. If you look at some boxes, you will find that they have indentions around the face of the box where the sides portrude out as a lip. This is from tight packaging straps warping the wood. It demonstates that the wood is a little soft and therefore should not be put under much stress or weight when loading or touring. On many occasions you can see the carpeting is found loose at the seams. So if you are looking into these, I just suggest a fairly thorough examination of the cabinet to make sure it is in prime condition because these issues are fairly common. On another note, they are attractive boxes and are still far better constructed than most cabinets you would find for less.

Overall Rating : 7
This product rates quite well in the real world as long as you take care of them. They will not hold up to abuse as well as other options, but don't expect them to just fall apart on you. They also include a decent 3 year parts and labor manufacturers warranty. I would recommend them to musicians who are looking to start building a PA that are on a budget but want something that will work well for both practice and moderate sized club gigs. They are a definite step up from portable "suitcase" systems as far as gigging with a rock band is concerned. They are an excellent choice if you are just entering into the PA world. If you have used them for quite some time and they were lost and/or stolen I'd say look into an upgrade, thats what I would do. But they will most likely last you a number of years.
