This is a powered speaker with a 1500 watt amplifier. Max SPL is 134 db. Frequency response is 45-150 Hz. It contains a high frequency rolloff control (crossover). Internal limiter circuitry prevents clipping, over current and over excursion. LEDs indicate power, clip and limiting. 1 1?4 inch input and 2 XLR input are provided. 1 1/4 inch output and 1 XLR output are provided. Dimensions are 23 x 28 x 31 inches. Weight is 143 lbs. The P model has a carpet finish and the PB has a sprayed on finish.

Sound quality is good. The sound can be shaped by the HF rolloff knob and the internal "shape" control knob, which goes from "loud" to "deep". I always start with this at 12 o'clock and adjust it for the venue.
I have two of these that I use in conjunction with mackie SRM450's. They are earth shaking! There are very few venues when I have needed both of LS800P speakers. Most venues require only one. When I have to provide sound at a outdoor gig, that is the only time I have needed them, most clubs it is too much.
They have never distorted. Though I had a feedback problem at 100 Hz when they were positioned closed to the stage. This was more of a result of the PA system crossover than with the speakers.

The "kick back" wheels and handle are great and I would hate to think about moving these beasts with out them! I just roll them in, plug and go. The "kick back" style also helps when going in and out of the trailer and up a step. A handle is also provided on each side.
Standard pole mount is provided.
When I have a small club we plug the kick drum mic straight into the LS800P and it sounds fine.

These subs have been great. I am very pleased at the ease of use. Very painless to set up and get working correctly.
I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a mobile, active subwoofer for use in clubs.
I would buy them again if they were stolen.
Sometimes I wish I had just bought one since they are so powerful that I rarely need both.
