Reviewer Background :
Been making music since '98 - Play Keys, Guitar and Drums

Version = 1.0

Apps = Pro Tools 7.4.2 and Logic Studio 8.0.2

Use = Mixing, I mix all kinds of music

Listening Equipment = GenElec Monitoring

Ease of Use : 10
The Library does not have an interface since it is a library of Impulse Responses. It interfaces with any IR Reverb available.

Installation is extremely easy and well described in the manual.

Very easy to make it sound good. Simply load the IR into the verb and feed it. The sound is very good

The manual is extensive and detailed

Sounds/Sound Quality : 10
Being an owner of an original EMT 245 I have compared this library and tested it's sound quality against the real EMT 245. Acousticas supplies modulation presets for Pro Tools and Logic users which makes the Impulse Responses sound very natural and non static.

In a blind test, I was not able to tell the difference between this library and my real EMT 245 when the modulation delay presets were enabled. Listening very closely without the modulation delay presets enabled, yielded a very slight difference on the tail but was only audible when soloed. The library sounds amazing right off the bat and can be totally tweaked by the user to accommodate any wishes. I have achieved great results when reversing the IR in order to achieve gates reverb effects.

The presets comes in many variations and offers proprietary presets for Waves IR-1 and McDSP's Revolver. All other IR reverbs are supported with the RAW impulses also supplied with the library. The presets are sorted good and are easy to navigate around.

It comes with 128 presets and unique IRs which is identical to the total amount of possibilities of setting the real hardware. All the EMT's settings have been recorded.

I have not yet paid for many Impulse Response libraries but I dont mind having done so when the result is great. I paid $49 for this library which I find to be very cheap considering the audio quality and the fact that I can now use my EMT 245 on multiple inserts without having to record the reverb of the real EMT 245. It really saves me so much time and thus money.

The IRs are supplied as either Dual Mono or interleaved stereo files.

To me - the price was worth every penny

I have long been a supporter of the convolution technology but I have not been able to find any libraries sounding really good. Especially when dealing with short reverb times. I find most IR libraries to be too weak in variety. Also I find that most IR libraries are merely supplying long and blurry tales of reverb which is not really living up to todays contemporary standards. I compared the library to my real hardware EMT 245 and it was virtually identical.

I love the fact that this library is a mirror of my real EMT 245. Although, it is faster setting the real EMT, the real EMT merely offers ONE reverb setting unless I print the reverb track which makes it non edible. I have nothing bad to say about this library but the fact that EACH IR reverb SHOULD contain a modulation in form of a simple LFO on the left and right channel making IR technology sound less static. My favorite about this library is that Acousticas has supplied me with modulation presets that simulates the modulation going on in the real EMT 245.

I would like for the manufacturer to take the library a step further and supply the user with more application presets. For Expample: Vocal settings, Instrument Settings etc.
