Version 3 is slightly better than 2 because the default setting is chromatic. Earlier version default was a C major scale (i.e. if you sing a Bb it'll turn it to a B or a C!!!) which just show what happens when geeks don't talk to musicians.
User interface is HUGE and takes up way too much of the screen, which can be a real pain in the ass when it blots out your edit window.
It has all kinds of features you don't need (eg. presets to help you tune medieval music) while it lacks the aspect you need most--the ability to lock it on one setting--eg. a male tenor vocalist--until you change this setting. Instead, you have to adjust the settings every single time you use it. Once again, the geeks need to talk to the users before they come out with things.
That said, it's actual operation is very simple.

Sounds very good, but use it sparingly. This has taught me one very important lesson--humans do not naturally sing with perfect intonation and those minor flaws are what give a voice its character. I love it on backing vocals and to fix a big flub in an otherwise great take.

Frankly, I'm writing this in hopes that the folks at Anteres read it and make some obvious improvements in their next version.
A very good product that could be less irksome to use.

I was hesitated buying AutoTune3 probably for the same reason your reading this article. I use MOTU Digital Performer 3, Recycle, NI Reaktor 2.?, B&W G3-450, OS 8.6 (if ain't broke, don't fix it), MOTU 2408, CD-RW, SCSI Card, & KRK V8's. I'm a electronic musician using EMU EIV XT Ultra, Korg TR-Rack, EMU Proteus XR, & a Roland XV3080. I write/perform jazz influenced House, NU Jazz, Broken Beat, whatever, etc.

Installation was a breeze. I downloaded a demo, then bought a copy. You need a code initially, then it loads with the program happily ever after. Its automated (just like most of the new DP/MAS plug-ins. The program is straight forward. I haven't dug into it because I use it for vocals overall (mostly realtime)but if you had some jacked-uped vocals its your best bet. It comes with a little manual (that I glanced at when I ripped open the box).

Excellent. It made what I thought was a great vocal performance sound like a Diva was in my attic. Enough said.

If this plug-in is worth every penny. If your band has a lead singer, relate this plug-in to a mic. If you use a computer for music and sing or deal with a singer YOU MUST own this plug-in.
