Reviewer Background :
I've been recording and playing professionally for the last 8 years. I play guitar and sing in bands. I use ProTools 5.3.2 with the Digi 002 on a G4 titanium using OS9.2.2. I write and record modern rock and hip-hop. I have been using the Antares Tube on everything from vocals to drums. My primary listening equipment: Mackie HR24s, m-audio Bx5, some cheap klipsh 2.1 system, and my trusty beyerdynamic headphones.

Ease of Use : 10
It is a very simple and easy to use plug-in. It uses challenge-response authorization which can be frusterating the first time, but a piece of cake afterwards. I believe that it is automatable, but I haven't found too much of a reason to automate any of the parameters. Again it is very easy to use... there is basically just one main control "good or more good". I didnt even need to touch the manual.

Sounds/Sound Quality : 10
The Tube sounds great.. it adds the warm gain that everyone's looking for these days. It runs in both mono and stereo. It is good up to 96k.. (which is all I need).

Overall Rating : 10
I paid list price online and it was worth every penny. If I wanted to wait until in was in stores I could probably find it for under $100. There is really no other plug-in like on the market. It is incredibly DSP efficent (I really have to watch out for that now that I'm using ProTools LE). Just for fun I tried to see how many I could pull up on my G4 400mHz laptop... I ran 45 Tube's no problem!!! It will definately be in my arsenal for good.
