Reviewer Background :
I have been making music for several years but only got into the virtual thing about a year ago. this is a review on the cakewalk audio FX2 plug-in.

Ease of Use : 10
the interface for both the amp simulation and the analog tape simulation are very easy and useful. the installation is simple, but i don't think you can automate it. the realtime control is pretty good and it is easy to tweak the sound to get what ever you want.

Sounds/Sound Quality : 7
the sounds on this thing are unique and cheesy as hell. the amp simulation is totally crappy but actually sounds cool on vocals and synth lines. same with the analog tape simulation it sounds cheesy and crappy but sounds great on certain things. you just have to experiment.

Overall Rating : 10
This thing is totally worth the $50 I spent. At first I thought it was horrible but then I started playing around with it and experimenting and realized that its quite useful and unique. I would pick it up if I were you. Don't use it for what it aspires to be just use it to give something in your mix that extra style.
