Cakewalk Dimension Pro

I'm a music pastor in a church for 7 years. Taught piano for two years before that, Bachelor's degree in music. Started using Cakewalk pro audio in highschol after working with Master Tracks Pro for couple years and flirting with Pro Tools in College. Currently on Sonar 4.

Very easy to install and wroked immediatly. Has a huge library of presets and you'll spend a long time just going through them. Has been extremly reliable and have used it live and so far hasn't failed.

Really sounds great. There is a wide variety of sounds represented. Lots of techno/dance/modern songs. Some loops that you can have fun reconstructing. Acoustic pianos and strings are really above average. Electric pianos are good, lots of organ sounds. Really the library is huge and you should be able to find something that fits the sound in your head. Can't compete with dedicated piece of kit like Ivory or Akoustic but for this kind of meat and potatoes synth. Internal effects are lame - would really be nice to have some kind of rotary simulation or amp sim, but this is not really a big deal in the soft synth world as I have tons of other effects of good quality elsewhere.

Great synth all the way around and for the price a no brainer. If you need a great meat and potatoes synth go grab it. Don't mistake it for a general midi general purpose module. It goes way beyond that and does it with great sound and a ton of options.
