Been making music since I started playing the piano with 5 (that was 25 years ago), Synth stuff since 2000 or so. Play keyboards, like Korg Triton, Kurzweil PC1X. No real hard synth with keys yet.
Use Minimonsta with the PC (so... not the mac version here) and Cubase, but also the Standalone versions.
I'm making synth pop, love small experiments (not too weird though).

The interface is absolutely intuitive. The installing process was like butter, the best I ever "enjoyed". Copy protection was great handled and easy, thank god no internet connection required.
Automation supported.
Now is it easy to get a good sound out of it? Hell, yeah!!!! Just do 'anything' with it and it sounds good. Didnt read the manual yet. This thing is fun and an instrument. No manual needed yet.

Sounds are warm like it's coming out of the oven. But fridge sounds are possible too (while some other softsynths are *only* freezing). But the warmth is impressive.... I can't imagine a sound any warmer.
Fat sounds, fragile sounds... everything is possible with this dream machine. Presets are probably the best I ever found in a synth.
The expressiveness is unreachable.
Did I already mention how great the sounds are?

I got the minimonsta in the "Future Retro Pack" from M-Audio,
paid 319 Euro for it (with a coupon), together with Oddity, impOSCar and M-Tron, who all are great instruments, especially Oddity and impOSCar. Minimonsta is the best though, and it's definitely worth the usual price.
I got this because the Minimonsta and the Oddity have been my favourite demo versions for a loooong while now, almost 1 and a half years I guess, and everytime (!) I tried them, I enjoyed it and it made me say "I want more!!". Other demos didn't do that to me. So I finally got this. I compared it to the NI vstis, the Arturia stuff, Z3TA, Albino, and some more demo versions.
What I love about it: It inspires you completely and makes you want to play, want to make music, gets you enthusiastic about it again. My fave feature is the morphing procedure with the melohman concept. Incredible! Also the choice of selecting amount of polyphony, legato, mono, unisono, detune..... this thing does it all.
No wishes unfulfilled with this. And the fact, that my enthusiasm about it made me write my very first recension here should speak books.

I'm a keyboard player who has owned a MiniMoog Model D for 20 years.
I'm using Minimonsta Version 1.06 Standalone and as a VST plug-in with MOTU DP 4.61
on a Mac OSX 10.3.9 dual 2GHz G5. I play/record funk/R&B and multiple styles of music.
Yamaha ES7 with mLAN and Behringer BCR2000 with AKG headphones and Event 20/20 studio monitors are the usual setup

Intuitive interface very easy install/copy protection method. 99% automation (MIDI CC control) makes it feel like the real thing. "Fun" is a good way to describe the playing and listening experience.

Sounds and feels like my real MiniMoog with many more features like polyphony a la MemoryMoog. The punchy attack alone sold me on it. "Balls" too. The Rick Wakeman patches are fantastic. I think it is better to get "blessing" of musicians support like GMEDIA did -before (even if it is) the original engineer and or his company. While I respect Moog Music for supporting the Arturia software company they do not have an ear or mind of a (pro) musician or perhaps are less concerned about their choice since it does not sound as good as the Minimonsta. All that said Dr. Robert Moog was a great man!
With MOTU Digital Performer you can use up to 16 polyphonic average of about 1 monophonic to 8 voice (up to 32 is possible) polyphonic Minimonsta -all with different patches it's like having multitimbral MiniMoogs! The 2Ghz G5 could handle about 4 easily along with other plug-ins, MIDI and stereo audio besides.

I've tried the Arturia demo versions of both Moog emulations for a week along with the Minimonsta demo and made my choice. While the Modular Moog V /MiniMoog emulations are like a great "picture" of the original the GMEDIA/OHMForce/M-Audio team has what sounds and reacts like an instrument. Robert Moog's spirit lives on with some incredible new "twists" in the Minimonsta and is worth my money.
