IK Multimedia Total Workstation 2

WARNING: very bad product - read all the reviews below, and THANKS to the reviewers for alerting us about the disaster.

As for myself, I came here because of the 50% discount IK Multimedia puts on his "Total bundles" until december 31st 2009.
Now I have decided to forget about it!

I had fun with SampleTank LE years ago... but I won't pay to spent hours of my life with software problems. Not anymore.

I agree. I have spent over 11 hours trying to get this vst to work and nothing. I have installed many many vst's on my computer and never encoutered something like this. IF I where face to fact to this company I would throw it at them and then put my foot up their ***. Just absolutly absurd.

Hey everyone.
I'm a musician/singer/songwriter. I produce my own music and decided to buy the IK Multimedia total workstation bundle 2. Big mistake so far.
The other guy who wrote his review of this product was right on..
my mac g4 crashed everytime I tried to use sonik synth 2...It finally crashed and died, and I had to pull everything out and bring it to an apple store to reset all the permissions which were destroyed among other things. As far as the sounds, there are some nice sounds in Miroslav, besides the pop and click noise which is a drag and shouldn't even be there...... the sample tank sounds are low to mid quality and not much variation, the loops are poor...Sample moog and tron are low quality sounds...
That's just the products,,,, the service tech guy that had me install the stuff is a strange way, well let's say, my computer worked fine before I tried to install the product, we were on the phone for hours trying to get the thing to work.....I worked with a new guy for several hours and the sonik synth still crashed my computer....Is there something wrong with this picture ?,,,, regarding the way IKmultimedia supplies NO....repeat. NO printed manuals to read makes it a real drag with a capitol DDDDD because you have to stop everything, have people standing around while you look through a pdf file every few minutes to learn how to do something....Waste of time...YOU BET....There is NO trouble shooting info anywhere, Is IK a cheap company or what.....? So I'm at the tail end of this experience and if they can't get this stuff....to work with out some crappy workaround... I WANT MY MONEY BACK.... I have had it,,,, hours on the phone, lost days work , products that don't work, or even sound good....I'm at the end of this ......
Try some other product ande save yourself a nightmare.

Sample tank has some cool sounds, POOR sounding loops, for the product I think IK multimedia has cheesed out on the sounds quality

Miroslav. Some beautiful sounds, but clicks and pops make this unusable if they continue,,,,imagine... your best song, a beautiful passage then....POP....CLICK.... ssssssst... the excuse was maybe it has to be reinstalled.....yeah,,,, right...

Sonik Synth....what can I say... it crashed my computer uh.... 1....2....3....4....5 times, and that was during the first installations....hours and hours,,,,of uninstalling, and re-installing
, searching out items to delete,,,,,installing again,,,,with the guy on the phone......OOPS it's lunch time I gotta go, call you back....more installing....unstalling....trip to the apple store to fix the computer permissions....more installing nand finally un-installing....now waiting for a new disk........if that doesn't work...look for me on tv.......promoting IKMULTIMEDIA.....

Let's see.... Ilost a couple of days work sitting on the phone with IK,
trying to get this stuff to work.... a morning trip to the apple store to fix the crashes resulting from the IK soniksynth install mess,
the aggravation having to deal with this mess, regarding price..it wasn't worth no mkatter what the price.

I have been making music about 20 years. I work with many different programs and manufactures. But Workstation 2 from IK Multimedia was a big mistake. MU host is Sonar 8 Producer. My styles are Electronic, Ambient, Techno, but also rock and metal.
I work with a 2.89Ghz Duo Core 3gig ram
I use the Line 6 UX2 and a Edirol PCR500, Edirol 15 D monitor plus
Yamaha subwoofer.

Worksation 2 excists of Sampletron, Samplemoog, Miloslav philharmonik, Sampletank 2,5 xl and Sonic Synth 2. First of all the installation process is irritating because IK is so arogant that we users need to use a serial number, digital number and authorisation code. Once you learned to install some of their software it will go allright.

BUT.... when i bought the software IK DID NOT put new updates on their site so i could not get it scanned in Sonar. The musicstore also didn't had the answers untill i finally found out the new updates.
IK is selling stuff what doesn't even work.

The programs are not made in the right size. Letters are irritating small and there aren't many intresting possibilities. So if you like sound design don't buy this.

Then there is another problem, it was making cliking noises, but they were gone after the altaest update.

I warn everybody to buy this Workstation. I installed it several times and i kepped on having problems with crashing, sampletank did not show other lists of the complete package and Sonic Synth 2 is the biggest source of irritation, because this program doesn't work!!! It took me a 100 hundred years to get the instrument list. After installing it again i decided to change the Sonic 2 instrument list by putting it into the sampletank instrument list, finally i got a list of instruments.

Sonic 2 caused my sound to be shut down and everytime that happened i had to turn of my pc and start it up again.

THE SOUND QUALITY??? Be alarmed this a complete distaster. Ever played with an 80's keyboard, like a 100 dollar kind of type?? Sonic synth is a joke. First you think.. wow lot's of sound, how the hell can i check them all out. Forget it.. the quality is so bad you might start to puke.

IK has a flashy site where they put all their products with nice big graphics and colors. It's a trick, watch out don't step into it. Their software is expensive, sounds terible and it has bugs.

No it's too expensive, check out native instruments.. they have perfect quality and fair prices.
I bought Workatation as a collection to my other programs. I don't like anything of the Workstation

I tried to contact IK over 3 times without getting answers over a period of several months. And you know what i found out??? Watch out people when you want to sell your software you have to buy a license for over 40 euro's.
So they come with **** quality and you even have to buy your way out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On their site stands that Bundles don't have to buy the license fee. This is a lie. When i finally got in contact with IK i asked them how to get a free license fee. The answer was.. you have to get the licensekey by signing up as a Bundle.
This is not true.. you get % SERIALNRS!!! This means you have to install every program seperate after installing the plugin workstation cd.
This means you need to Authorize 5 times!!! And that means that you
get 5 times the 5 programs of workstation in your user area.
No bundle version whatsoever. I replied on IK's mail by telling this

IK wrote that i then have to buy the license key 5 times meaning you have to pay them over 200 euro's just to get rid of their ****** software!!!!!!!!!!!

I call this kind of treatment criminal and i told them that the rumours of their bad software and bad treatment with their customers is spreading over the net.

NEVER IK for me again... believe it or not i throwed the bloody Workstation in the trash.
