Reviewer Background :
I have been playing guitar and recording since 1997. Coming from a double tape deck overdub beginning, I now use Sonar 8 Producer in conjuntion with a Profire 2626 interface, Akai MPK49 midi controller, Waves Gold and SSL 400 bundles, Avalon U5 direct box (for bass/keys), and mix down to an Alesis Masterlink ML9600 deck.

I run a custom built PC with an Intel Q6600 quad processing core, Asus Motherboard, 8 Gigs ram (even though xp is only 3Gb capable per program, I am ready to convert to 64 bit when kink free). My monitors are M-Audio's Studiophile BX8A deluxes.

Ease of Use : No Opinion
Ease of use was fine.

I was very excited to utilize "Lexicon" reverbs because of the name. Unfortunately, the only thing that resembles Lexicon in the Patheon plugin is the label.

I tried adjusting the settings multiple ways for almost a week straight, desperately trying to give this reverb a chance. The overall sound quality had a real electronic quality that I would never want in a reverb. I associate reverb with tubes, springs, etc. This one sounded like it had a filter over the whole thing, seemed VERY unnatural, and I could find no true use for it in either a rock or r&b/hip-hop setting.

There was absolutely no warmth in this plug-in. I have gotten better reverb singing in the shower.

I tried it in mono (not in stereo) as most vocals are done in mono. I was very disappointed and have a tough time believing that Lexicon was even willing to put their name on this plug in. To me, just another great name that sold out for the dollar.

That having been said, if you are looking for truly warm reverb in Sonar, I recommend trying a few different reverbs and try them in conjuntion with the tube lever that comes with the program to add warmth and saturation.

Don't be afraid to ask the manufacturer for your money back on crap software either. You wont get it at the store, but manufacturers seem to be good about accommodating the users. Seeing as this software came with Sonar 8 Producer, I can't feel too bad it didn't work for me.

I this plugin in Sonar 3.X for reverb on tracks.

Ease of Use : 8
Interface is good. No problems installing; comes with Sonar.
I've heard a lot of folks say the presets are not the best.
You need to really dig in and tweak the knobs to get better sound.
No manual except for online help.

Sounds/Sound Quality : 6
Sound ranges from ho-hum to great. Depends.
Sometimes I notice a slight "metallic" sound in the Lexicon's processed audio. My view is that it's just one reverb in your toolkit. Sometimes it's right for the job, other times I prefer another reverb plugin--like, Sonitus, Glace, or some VST reverb plugin I can download for FREE off the net.

Overall Rating : 7
Got it free with Sonar 3.x. Supposedly there's a new version with Sonar 4 that's even better and supports Surround sound.
Now if Lexicon wants to send me THAT plugin, I'll be glad
to review it too:

I've been writing & recording for over ten years. Started out on a Yamaha 4 track and since then have worked with everything from 2" to fully digital setups, pro and home studios. Right now I use Adobe Audition on a PC through a Tascam digital mixer in a nice semi-professional home studio. I record music for a living. All genres.

Ease of Use : 10
So, so easy! A retarded monkey could use it. Installation is no hassle. Exactly what one would expect from Lexicon.

Sounds/Sound Quality : 10
Beautiful, natural reverb. A lot of reverbs I used sounded muddy like there was a thick layer of reverb laid over the track. The Pantheon just sounds like it's one with the track, natural, no mud. The presets are pretty good except that the default levels are at 100. Not a big deal just adjust once and save.

Overall Rating : 10
I've had nothing but positive experiences with it. Great sound and so easy to use. What else could you want from a reverb?
