VST is part of Komplete 5 preloaded in a Muse receptor 2.
Music genre is classic rock and roll and for live venue applications
Ease of Use

Grpahics gui is tacky at best, hard to drive on a live stage in real time

Horrible...Ive read all about how great this VST is, how it cuts through the mix, blah ,blah, blah. I play 4-8 live gigs a month and for a bright piano, this is NOT what you can use. Ive tweaked this turkey for a year and gave it up in a single heartbeat for the new Yamaha S90 SX. Don't believe the hype, its convulated reverb is weak...sucks ram and CPU resources like it was free.

Originally I bought this as a part of the 'komplete' package in a Muse receptor. First impression of the piano was disappointing and even giving it every chance to prove otherwise, I don't even load it anymore. As the sales pitch says 'look its a 2 GB sample versus a few megs, thats gotta be better' complete BS I'll acknowledge that pianos are subjective however I've asked every fan of this vst turkey to prove it head to head and so far, no one has taken the challenge There are far better samples out there ... MOVE ON

I've been playing piano for 20 years.
I'm using version 1.1
My recording software is FL Studio prducer edition...I had problems with Cubase Se.
My computer is a Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz 2gigs of ram running on Xp.I installed akoustik piano on its own hardrive (western digital)
My soundcard is a Emu 1212m (excellent card & software sampler!!)

I had no problems installing this software but I did have problems with the sound until I downloaded the latest version.
This program is quite easy to get around being that there is not much to it...But the convolution reverb is a welcomed addition.

Let me start by saying that I have both Akoustik Piano & Synthogy's Ivory.Ivory gives you you a wonderful interface with a gang of adjustments.A wonderful variety of pianos & synth piano pads however it is no match against Akoustik Piano.Akoustik Pianos sound is sublime soooo pretty & believeable.I can't understand how anyone could write a bad review for this program!!!But in the computer world the saying is YOURE MILEAGE MAY VARRY.At first I was using Cubase running out of a digitech gnx4 guitar processor. The sound was warm but lacked something. The best latentcy figure I could achieve was 7ms.I then installed the Emu 1212m soundcard and the sound improvement was quite noticeable.I next installed FL Studio (producer addition) recording software & now the sound is beautiful...latenetcy is down to a credible 3ms.Can someone please explain to me how software can improve your sound??Now when I'm playing Akoustik Piano I can't believe my ears the sound is currently the best piano emulation available..as I have either purchased these products(money) or given them a careful listen. But once again in the computer world everything is not as simple as we would like it to be...Each piece of equipment or software can have a noticeable effect on the final outcome.

AS I stated earlier I've purchased much software & hardware trying to get a realistic piano sound.Right now there are (my opinon) only two programs that achieve this goal.. NI's Akoustik Piano & Synthogy's Ivory. Both are worth every penny of the asking price.I'm sure in the near future there will be competitors who will be attempting to dethrone the aforementioned.I welcome them just to see if it can be done.

Sound quality is excellent mainly on Steinway D which is highly playable. I am really delighted with the sound. From some of the comments I was really hesitant and was suprised that it ended up sounding as good as it does. Much better than the Yamaha MO8 piano.
This came with the upgraded to Komplete 4 so it was a real surpise and bonus.

I'm a composer, musician and producer. I play piano from 30 years and other instruments (guitar, battery, bass, wind ecc.)for 20 years.
I work in electronic, ambient and pop-rock music for many label. I have choose this VST for don't micking the real acoustic piano.
I use a specific PC only for VST instruments, this is a P4 3.2GHz with 4Gb DDR 400MHz and 200Gb S-ATA.

I was very impressed when I heard the Boesendorfer sound at the demo recordings on the website and I bought the software immediately.
When I have installed the VTS and heard the Boesendorfer.. It's orrible !!
I remember the sound of this spectacular grand piano when I played in concerts in the conservatory. This Boesendorfer doesn't seem at all a true Boesendorfer and when I have tried to play Listz and Chopin the result has been a bud soup of indistinguishable notes and without dynamics.
The Stainway and Bechstain plays very similar and confused with a plastic sound that remembers the terrible piano of Korg Triton (excluded the Boesendorfer in the Triton Extreme that it plays very very well).
I have try to play "Lady D." and it is impossible to hear the definition of the single sounds in the fast scales and arpeggios.
None of these is able of to leastly compete with my Yamaha GrandPiano C3.
In last I have tried to play Schott Joplin on the Steingraeber and also this makes me regret the my old upright piano "Roeseler" of 1800 remained to house of my parents.
Pedal and keys noise are orrible like the hall fx.
I expected very more me from a factory as Native Instruments.
The best VST grand piano is always EastWest Bosendorfer290.

Unfortunately I can't return back the product, in my country it is not permitted.
In short: save your money, don't buy !!
