I just sent this email to the dude who made it:
you are the ****. i never comment, but, i've been working on a dark jazz guitar tone for 2 days straight.... altiverb, guitar rig 3 (this is my friends Hofner hollowbody, he also owns Gibson L4 custom)
Into Apogee Mini Me. Adam P22's. I am very serious about tone. I got some good results with guitar rig 3. But I just plugged into my Devil BASS, and it BLOWS guitar rig 3 away..... Unquestionably, objectively blows it away.
Anyways, I have to get back to eq'ing it now.

Yes it is very easy, just like operating an amplifier. I just turn the virtual knobs and adjust the EQ sliders.

Recorded a Fender P-Bass direct into soundcard , played it back and it sounded very thin and not like a bass should sound. Turned on the Studio Devil VBA with no adjustmnts to anything else and viola it sounded very much like I was playing thru my Fender Bassman with some edge to it!

LOL. I payed $69 bucks there is nothing close to that price.
I got this one because I love little companies who make good stuff and this one rocks ( there is a free demo). Also this was made by fellow electrical engineer and I likw that as well.
My only suggestion is perhaps a few moe cabinets and the ability to save settings.
It is very easy on cpu.

I've been making music for 16 years. I play guitar, bass and a bit of piano.
This is Virtual Bass Amp version 1.0
I use this plugin with Cubase LE 4.
I use this plugin to record my 4 string electric bass (with passive electronics). I play a range of music; rock, blues, jazz, metal, etc.
I'm using this program with a Dell Inspiron 1505 running XP Pro sp2.
I use the Lexicon Omega recording interface and KRK monitors.

As with Studio Devil's Virtual Guitar Amp, this Virtual Bass Amplifier is just as the name suggests. A straight forward Bass Amplifer VST. It looks and acts like you'd expect a Bass amp to act. I had trouble installing the program because once installed, and despite being activated via the Studio Devil website, the program would revert back to Demo mode. I sent an email to the company's support address and within MINUTES I had a response back AND a phone call to my cell phone following up. A company with customer service that good, and that quick gets an A+++ in my book. Very helpful, very friendly. Got around the Demo mode problem and haven't had any problems since.
I believe automation is supported but haven't tried it out yet.
The virtual amp is as easy to get good sounds from as any real bass amp would be. Just turn the knobs and go with it. Manual is excellent.

Amp sounds are incredible, very warm, rich, round tone to them. Not flat and lifeless at all. With my bass I was used to running through Guitar Rig 3's Tweedman to get anything close to a round bass amp sound. It was frustrating because the damn bass required so much gain that I was always fighting to hear it or hear it in the mix. Having passive electronics was not helping things at all. But with this VST I can get great loud, punchy, in your face bass sounds without having to crank everything to the brink of overdrive. The included presets sound great and make for great starting off points. Operation is Mono.

I paid $75 for it from the studio devil website and it was completely worth it. No more having to run Guitar Rig 3 or other VSTs that focus on guitar and then bass amping is an afterthought. This product, like their others, does one thing and does it amazingly well. I just love the fact that I can set it up quickly like a regular amp and start PLAYING instead of monkeying around with too many knobs, controls and options. As I said in my review of their Virtual Guitar Amp, I love the ability to select speaker modeling outputs. With this one you get a 4x10, 1x15 or DI direct box. However because the 4x10 and 1x15 sound as good as they do, I haven't found myself needing to run this plugin through Voxengo's Boogex for impulse modeling. Anything that saves CPU is welcome! Program has never crashed.
