AMG Vinyl Frontier 2 Wav

-been making music for 10 years or so
-trip-hop & hip-hop, but also everything else (punk, post rock, etc.)
-i use cakewalk sonar 3.0 and acid pro 4.0
-i've been using Vinyl Frontier 2 for a couple years
-yamaha NS10m monitors

Vinyl Frontier 2 is definitely worth the price I paid. A while ago, soundsonline.com was selling a lot of AMG libraries for like less than $25.. to introduce their new line of stuff and introduce a new price slash for their libraries. I'm glad I stocked up on the AMG stuff.

When I received my Vinyl Frontier 2, the .wav disc wouldn't read in my CD drive for some reason. I contacted Matt from AMG UK, and he was incredibly helpful and nice about sending me a CD-R of all the .wavs (I of course had to provide a fax for him, of my proof of purchase and signed license agreement). It was great though. He sent a new disc out and I got it in a few days, and it worked perfectly.

The sounds on Vinyl Frontier 2 are all drumloops, and most of them are pretty useful. The disc is probably 50% downtempo loops, 25% drum n bass, and 25% breakbeat. The downtempo loops range from SLOW to 100bpm. The processing for all the loops is really good, too. Definitely gives the "grit" that a lot of trip-hop songwriters (including myself) look for. Most of the loops have at least two variations (most of the time they have four variations). AMG also provide you with lots of great single hits (all gritty, useful hip-hop single hits), which I have used countless times to program my own beats. The single hits are GREAT. Hi hats, rides, kicks and snares only. But that's really all you need most of the time, when you're programming your own beats.

Definitely worth it, though if you're looking for a more "Portishead" sound in your productions, pick up the first Vinyl Frontier (the whole disc is downtempo stuff). This disc is more various, but still just as useful.
