Reviewer Background
:
Started the piano 31, organ 26, synths etc. 23 years ago. Nowadays electronic in the first place. But since I started the guitar last year, also songwriting originally coming from a progressive rock band. This first week I only fed these sounds the Equinox with it`s clear simple filters. But I'll give the E5000 a try too. Listening equippment is: DDX3216 and the wonderful cheap Event TR8.

'twas a steal. Kind of clearance I suppose. I already had some analog samples. But I was curious what the guys of Analogue Solutions might come up with as builders of really great NEW analog stuff(lookup there homepage). This doesn't work as a standalone analog library, but a great addition! Favourites (machines, I some of didn't even know before): Movement MDCU1, TI Speak&Spell(funny) and of cource MonoPoly, Oberheim SEM, Roland VP330... All sounds indead ARE usable if you do ALL sorts of music. It's loops, single and multisamples. Most of them kinda weirdish. What I really love they, really capture the wildness (not so much the wideness)of those old instruments. I didn't find pads or athmos or ambiences, but it`s up to us to synthesize them. No "nice" bells...Instead raw powerful spectra. Me, I'm looking forward to "Sounds of Old too" announced but not yet available.
