i discovered these drumloop/oneshot cd's by accident on Ebay..i went to their website..auditioned the samples and was REALLY IMPRESSED...so much so that i bought all these discs off them Beta Monkey Alt and Modern Rock Drum Loops,Beta Monkey Classic Backbeats Plus Disc 1,Beta Monkey Classic Backbeats Plus Disc 2,BETA MONKEY DRUM LOOPS VOLUME II,Beta Monkey Drum Werks Volume I,Beta Monkey Drum Werks Volume III,Beta Monkey Volume IV,Beta Monkey? Alt and Modern Rock II,Beta Monkey? Loud Rock and Pop Grooves..i couldnt help it..such great value ..i was shocked by the low price (i think i paid around $100 US for all these CD's) ..especially when i discovered the immediate 'useability ' factor of these sounds..i recommend getting all discs as it really opens your ears as to what suits your own type of music ..its like having a real drummer present trying different styles for your songs..Volume IV stands out as the CD for quick usage ..the sounds on that cd just really make my stuff shine..oh BTW all 9 CD's arived in Australia ( from USA) in under a week ..i couldnt believe the service..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Have been composing and producing music for over 20 years, across all styles and genres - from orchestral to hip-hop to thrash metal and everywhere in between, mostly for advertising, radio and television.
I have a TDM ProTools system (HD Accel 3) with Logic Audio Platinum as front end on a G4 with a heap of out-board as well as in-board gear, monitoring through Genelec 1031s.
I have been using the samples from this library direct in LAP for the last 3 months.

I have to admit I was skeptical at first, but after taking a bit of a shot-in-the-dark and buying Beta Monkey's Drum Werks, Classic Backbeats and Alt & Modern Rock Drums libraries on eBay a few months ago, I'm glad I did. In terms of bang-for-the-buck (I paid around $70 plus shipping for the 3 complete libraries - 8 disks in all, plus one compilation/sampler CD) these disks are hard to beat. They are jam-packed with highly usable live drum loops, grooves and fills - all 'acidized' and presented in easy-to-access and audition format.
Frankly, I got so much in these libraries that I almost have too much stuff to work with. All the files are catalogued according to tempo and style and all professionally recorded. They add a great, natural, live dimension that is hard to replicate for the money.
The only negative is that working with the files on a Mac, when these disks were created more with PC users in mind, some of the filenames get truncated, but I have found this a small problem.
Also, there is some variation in the EQ'ing of different sets, obvioulsy the result of using different drummers, kits and studios, but at the end of the day I find these add more variety to the libraries, and view this as more of a positive point than a negative.
In all - for the money, BetaMonkey drums are hard to beat.
