Beta Monkey Music Drum Werks Vol. 4 Wav

I've been working as a gigging musician for about 35 years, playing guitar and bass in various groups, from Jazz to Funk to Blues to Hard Rock and lots of eclectic side journeys as well. I'm primarily using the Drum Werks series in Acid and in Cubase, recording scratch parts in Acid with a basic drum loop, then fleshing out the drum part there (adding other loops, fills etc.), then rendering that as a WAV file and importing it into Cubase to record my actual guitar, bass, vocals and keys with. Kind of a wierd system but it works. I use an antique version of Cubase (I really must update someday), Acid Pro 4, an aged P3, an Echo Event Darla card, old Mackie board...good old stuff, still running (not unlike myself).

These are probably the best drum loops on the market! I've spent much more on other collections, and gotten much less use out of them. The Loops are organised in easy to use groups which include MANY variations of the basic beat, lots of usable fills, intros etc., which make it very easy to put together a realistic part in fairly short order. Or it would if you weren't as compulsive as me! The one-shots of cymbals and other drum hits allow for creating the parts that you might need outside of the available loops, as well. I've managed to fool many of my drummer friends into thinking I had a new great guy in the studio...well, actually I did, I just assembled him from component parts! The drums sound great, good unprocessed drums well played and recorded, and the looping and timing is superb. I very much like being able to add my own verb and compression and tailor that to the track as opposed to having to follow the sound of someone else's processing. The clients I've produced for have been very happy with the results as well. I use live drummers too, but I'm collecting more of the Beta Monkey catalog...they're just so useful, they sound great, and you can't beat the price.
