what can i say beta monkey is back at it again this time with a rock and blues collection in dw vol v and vi. first off the sound is about as pure as you will ever get no digital crap screwing things up not sure what type of kit was used cuz he uses so many but this by far has the best sounding loops and samples (the whole kit is included in multi velocity) that is out there these set of discs are like husband and wife they really go good together and id recomend buying both of them these discs are the most versatile discs ive heard to date if you cant make music with these discs than hang it up your done. Ive compared these loops with others and ill tell you not only is beta monkey going to save you money but your also going to make music faster without messing with a lot of crap i can put a song together in less than five minutes where it can fool the best of drummers. There is nothing useless on these volumes the vol v is suited with rock pop country etc loops heard in mainstream money making music and vol vi is the same but with the blues in mind and you can combine the loops with both and if you have cakewalk sonar4 producer edition all the loops can be used at any tempo if you take your time so to close this review out if you dont have these discs than you should buy them if you havent already from reading this review and i'll tell you this company will go out of there way to help you out and that is important they will even give advice on what discs are right for you so if you want a human drummer with more intensity and the master of cymbal dynamics and dont want crap than these discs in fact all there discs are for you

I've been making mostly heavy metal music since 1994. I have used Acid and Ntrack to record the drum loops from this library for use with the music I am writing. My listenting equipment is a mix of Headphoens, stereo system, and analog monitors.

This product was definitely worth the price paid. $28 is not much when you consider what you are purchasing. It is basically about the price of a tank of gas in my pickuptruck. And since the product keeps me at home trying to make new drum tracks, it retty much saves gas anyway. The reason I chose this library over other brands is because the "feel" of the drummer that recorded the loops was very naturay. Not a perfect drummer, and that shows because some of the loops don't necessarily flow together, but when you do find a matching set of loops, it is EXTREMELY convincing! The reason I ended up using the product in the first place, regardless of the sound quality and the feel, is because they included a few double bass patterns. Without the double bass inclusion, the product would be useless to me. I would not say that there are a wide variety of sounds, primarily because it seems to be a "Rock" based drum library, and the performer of the loops probably doesn't know "every beat in the book". But the very first song I created a drum track for came out fantastic, and I wouldn't change a beat.
I have only been using this library for about a week, so I haven't exploited it completely. That being said, I have found that the ride cymbals did not come with samples of full on hits - they are all light hits. I have a feeling that there are probably other single hit samples that don't have all the range of velocities.
