it was DEFINITELY worth the price tag. for some reason big fish audio was selling it on sale big time, way less than its normal $99 price tag. i happened to catch the website when they were selling this for $30. what a great deal, and what a nice surprise. it doesn't happen often, to see good sample libraries such as this, for so little.

i chose this sample CD library based on the price, but i heard the demo a month back and it totally hooked me.. that's why i checked back on big fish audio's site.. i was going to buy it anyway, but when i saw it on sale, i was like "whoa. hell yeah."

construction kits are the order of the day with Wall Of Vinyl. and they're all AWESOME. great underground hip-hop loops, rhodes, guitars, basslines, efx... everything. at the end of each track, you get the single drum hits, which is a very nice addition (most construction kit libraries put the single hits at the end of the disc, and you have no idea which kicks sound best with which snares). the last few tracks have single instrument grooves, turntable scratches (very talented ones at that), and several more drum loops. great, usable stuff ALL around.

the library has a wide variety of sounds.. but definitely in the hip-hop territory (of course). bpms range from about 80-120 or so... great range for hip-hop.

i'm going to pick up Wall Of Vinyl 2 as soon as i'm done with all the sample loop chopping (a HUGE pain, but necessary, as with all audio-format sample CDs)... it takes SO long to chop this stuff but in the end it's worth it.
