First off... I LOVE BT. He makes some of the most beautiful electronic music out there. Being classically trained totally makes his music stand out above other trance and techno artists. I'm glad he put out Breakz from the Nu Skool and Twisted Textures.
Ok.... Twisted Textures is.... AMAZING.
You like ambient? You like trippy movie-score stuff? You want a library that gives you everything you need to do it? It's this one.
I have used these samples in SO many songs, from my band and in my solo stuff and film project stuff. What I like to do is open up a sample and create a patch in Sampletank 2 (it can create a map for any one single .wav file, and make it a Sampletank instrument-- very cool tool, see my Sampletank 2 review under IK Multimedia).... and that way, instead of being stuck with one .wav file as a one-shot, I have the ability to play the ambient sounds on my keyboard controller, thus expanding the usage of Twisted Textures tenfold. (no tongue-twister intended). :)
As far as the sounds go....
BT talks about how the double-disc covers the "full spectrum of human emotion" and boy, is he right. He has happy-sounding stuff, terror-inducing stuff... sad evolving stuff... all of the ambient pads are so.... I dunno... beautiful I guess is the word. Movie scores much? Seriously. It's really great, useful stuff. All sounds evolve, sometimes taking a really long time to evolve, too.. amazing.
Highly recommended for anyone into ambient, movie-score stuff... you will definitely find much use from this library. BT went all out, and for that, I thank him.
