Reviewer Background :
Been composing / performing since 1976. I do chamber jazz fusion with an orchestral element. I am using the samples after processing them through WaveLab and then into a Motif ES. I have been working with the sounds for a couple of weeks now.

Overall Rating : 9
Yes I do think the disc is worth the price. The only thing I would have liked is a little more samples. The samples included, however are very workable.

I was able to loop process some of the section and solo strings through WaveLab with some very usable results. Also the woodwind samples are very clean and I could put to use right away. I also chorused / reverbed some of the woodwinds to come up with some spectacular new lead voices.

Some of the samples are 'noisy' - but only on the upper register and this is only a few of them. The noise almost sounds like it's the sound of the bow anyway - so I find the sounds workable nonetheless.

For the price I feel I got my money's worth and right off the bat I was able to use a bunch of the samples to get very good results.

Can't wait to save up for a more expensive colletion.

Reviewer Background :
Playing piano for 45 years. Play jazz, rock, experimenting with orchestral soundtrack work.
Use EXS-24 sampler in Logic 4.7
Had library 2 months. Playing out of M-Audio Delta 66 into a Mackie 1206VLZPro Mixer, into either Sony Reference Headphones or Paradigm Atoms through a reasonably good modular stereo system.

Overall Rating : 3
Very little usable in this collection. I bought it because the Grand Piano samples from this series is quite good, after a little tweaking. However, aside from a couple of ok woodwinds, and one of the ff long strings sample, most samples were either not that much of an improvement over, say, the E-Mu Proteus 2 soundfont collection, and some were just awful. The quieter string samples were just so hissy they were a pain to even audition. I tried trashing the EXS-24 versions and doing an Akai conversion to see if these were better, but they were the same thing. I'm sorry to say I got put off of the ProSamples line because of this, which is too bad, because they seemed like a way to build a library with small expenditures at a time.
