I have been doing various types of music for about ten years (mostly Gospel, R&B, Classic Soul, and some Hip Hop). I bought this set about 9 months ago. The only sampler I have is with my Yamaha Motif.

Overall Rating : 6
The Motif is maxed out with 64mb of ram. The set comes with a 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, and a 256MB piano. The only one I was able to use is the 32MB piano because the 64MB piano volume is missing a partition. I called Prosamples and they sent me another one(for free). It had the same problem. I put the set in the computer and still could not find it. Well, with the limited amount of ram, I did load the 32MB piano. It sounds better than the stock motif piano sounds. The 3 layer samples are also a plus! I really wish I could load the higher MB pianos.

I have been making music since I was a wee lad (and I am no longer a wee lad). I make all kinds of music from pop to techno to dance to jazz to pop.

I use an Emu E5000 Ultra (128MB ram). I record into Logic Audio 4.81 on a Mac G4 and monitor out of studio monitors.

First, the sounds on this are excellent! Really a well done job sampling. However, there is one aspect of this library that I am not overly pleased with. Namely, it only has 3 velocity settings (as far as I can tell) and they are (1) soft (2) normal, and (3)loud. The problem is that soft is not very soft. It is very difficult to play with any sensitivity with this library.

The library does come with a choice of 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB piano which is really great. I am maxed out at 128MB so I use that one. However, I would much rather use the 32MB or 64MB piano if it had more velocity settings (they do not).

I will also say that I just purchased this and am "learning my way around it" so maybe I will figure out how adjust velocity (in the sampler). But I think it is just the library that is limited. Anyone else have experience with this?

Caveats aside, the sound on this library is really very good. If it weren't for the limited velocity settings, I would rate this library a 10+.

I've played piano for around 45 years. I play jazz, rock, some recent soundtrack stuff. I use the EXS-24 sampler in Logic Audio Gold 4.7 on a Mac Beige G3 upgraded to a G4 466 mhz with 512MB RAM. Play out of a M-Audio Delta 66 card into a Mackie 1206 VLZ Pro mixer through a pretty good stereo system and Paradigm Atom speakers, using Roland MA-8's for close up and Sony reference headphones.

This was a nice purchase. I have an Alesis QS7 with a Jazz Piano QCard, which has a nice piano tone but little sustain. I wanted something to play quiet blended chords with. This sample pretty much does the job. I can tweak it to sound how I want through Logic's plug-ins and VST plug-ins. There was one sample around F-F#-G that was kind of dead, but it was a simple matter to just extend the two on either side to compensate, with no discernable problems. The library comes with a 64MB sample, a 128, and a 256. I find that for most use, the 128 is just fine, and the 256 is great for solo work. I definitely feel i got my money's worth, and really don't feel the need to try others. Maybe if I heard one of the couple-hundred dollar samples, I'd be spoiled. This is fine for my home use now, though. Warning, I got the ProSamples Classic Orchestra library and was fairly bummed at the lack of usability of that library...
