On The Rhodes is TOTALLY worth the price tag.
I had been searching for a Rhodes riff library for a while, when I came across On The Rhodes from a music mag (it might have been Future Music). I listened to the demo mp3 from www.gmediamusic.com and I was COMPLETELY sold.
The disc has not only Rhodes chords (which work well in a song to begin with), but a ton of great, soulful Rhodes licks, played on the Rhodes Mark I Stage 73 electric piano. There are over 300 Rhodes riffs and loops, all perfectly looped and ready to be dropped into your loop sequencer. Not only do they give you the awesome loops, they also give you over 300 MIDI files of them, for you to use with whatever sound you'd like. Very cool.
To top all of this great stuff off, they give you a Rhodes soundfont, which is hands-down the best Rhodes I've ever heard (and I use Lounge Lizard 2.0 and EVP73 for Rhodes sounds)... I use the soundfont in all of my songs. Beautiful, clean Rhodes... the soundfont is a perfect translation from the real piano.
The disc also has a few drumbeats here and there, which are cool and clean.. all funky, acoustic drum loops. Not completely necessary, but it's nice that G-Force/G-Media included them.
You need this disc if you love the Rhodes sound. R&B, trip-hop, hip-hop, soul, funk, jazz.... the riffs suit everything. Organized by tempo, style of music, and key... great library from a company that consistently puts out great stuff (I have all of their libraries, and no, I don't work for them!).
Solid 10.
