It was worth the price for sure, many useful sounds!
As far as variety is concerned, yes. Although I bought this hoping to come across some sounds I could "chop up" and use for Hip Hop production, I didn't find much use for the drums for Hip Hop without severe tweaking. I also run a small project studio in which I record several local people to supplement production work & I found this library very useful for this. I have an acid jazz client who was very happy with the beats I put together with this library in no time flat. Also, an acoustic guitarist client was real happy with what we were able to put together too. Did a nice jingle for a local cell shop shop.. etc.. I've actually been able to save clients plenty of time by having the library around. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who needs backing tracks with nice clean drums.

This library is well put together with a majority of the loops being usable at least for straightforward pop/rock. However most of the loops need to be trimmed to loop correctly and this is something that really gets aggravating if you want to work quickly. I am sure this is to provide multiple options crossfade loops etc. but trimming down these components we end up with wavering tempos 127 to 126 which isn't a huge deal just a little more work than i think should be necessary when laying down a straight rock track.
There is a pretty wide variety of tempos ranging from 70bpm up to 160 and a wide range of styles ranging from Funk to Country to Bossa Nova. Overall the recording quality is very clean but i personally could have used some more compression during the recording as some of the finer snare/hat work could get lost in busier tracks. The section of Cymbal hits while large don't have enough variety in terms of dynamics. Stylistically most of these loops lack charachter at least from what you would expect for $299. The country loops are straight, the rock loops lack polish for instance there are no rock loops with any tambourine. In closing i would say if your a songwriter looking for a straightforward backing track and are willing to do a little trimming i would recommend this. However if you like your loops with a little more creativity and inspiration check out any of the Spectrasonics titles or AMG for that matter.
