Hella Bumps 1 was worth the price tag, I think. The format of the disc is construction kit mostly, with some single hits and various other stuff. The beats are very clean-sounding hip-hop loops. Funky as hell! Lots of cool riffs, rhodes, guitars, basslines... this is definitely a mainstream hip-hop library, though. Not enough grit for me, though I have used this a lot in a lot of my songs. I just like more grit in the beats. This library is so cleanly-produced it's crazy. I mean don't get me wrong, the sounds are great, it's just CLEAN.. haha. No vinyl noise or 8-bit lo-fi beat production... well, it pops up here and there but not often (but more often than Hella Bumps 1).
M-Audio make great sound hardware, but the Hella Bumps series are aimed for mainstream R&B and mainstream rap/hip-hop. Everything sounds great, just a little too "radio" for me at times. Still, the drumloops rock, and all the other riffs are completely useful.
A solid 9, for the variety of stuff... a little better than Hella Bumps 1.
