Reviewer Background :
I have been making MIDI music for over ten years and was only using sound modules up untill two years ago. The high price of modules led me to try software synths. The promise of high-quality samples and the possibility of making my own sounds to trigger from my keyboard was my motivation. I use Acid Pro and Reason on the computer and still use my modules and record them digitally and import them into Acid. Reason is an awsome multi-progam and the learning curve is fairly steep if you don't have much software based experience. I got the Orkester refill to expand the acoustic sounds that I use. I do mostly classic rock style and also have done some movie soundtrack stuff. I use an Edirol usb unit to import acustic instruments and vocals.

Well, I got it used, on disc, off EBay and it has some good samples on it. I have such a large library of wav. and soundfonts that I'm not sure about favorites. I'll like a certain sound one day and hate it the next. I guess it depends on the application if a sound is useable or not. But, It has a good variety of sounds and most are useable. I am just learning how to effectively tweak sounds so even the weak sounds can be altered and used. It was worth the price I paid but, don't ask me if it's worth the retail price as I am frugel (read-cheap!)and have tons of equipment and software that hasn't set me back very much.

My first steps into electronic music were performed around 1989, when I was playing with a second-hand Boss DR-220A machine which I eventually replaced with a Roland W30 in 1992.
I then changed for a PC, and I am now doing it with both physical and software instruments.
I recently acquired an Apple iBook on which I run Reason, but also Logic and Remix (cut-down version of Ableton Live).
I can't exactly describe what I do as music but it's supposed to be either ambient or rock (http://gnuart.net/data/musique/mirko_vidovic/) or disco/punky (http://www.tompox.com).
I monitor my studio using an old high-end Kenwood stereo which receives the source from an STAudio DSP24MkII soundcard which itself got it all from an XLR-connected Yamaha MX12/4 mixer.

This CD consists of an orchestral instrument set and loops for Propellerheads'Reason.
It is good but only if you're more into loops'n stuff than if you look forward to use individual sounds.
Overall, it sounds good and I'm happy this purchase just allow me not to turn my pc on in order to load huges symphonic instruments whenever I just want to notebook some ideas on my iBook.
I'd buy it again.
