Absolutely worth the price. 1GB of audio (1000 loops) for 40 bucks is reasonable IMHO.

Didn't really compare to anything. Just came across it on the net, and liked it. Seemed like a good offer.

Overall, the sounds are very usable. I particularly like the "Mix'n MatchBoxes", wihich is really based on an original concept. For instance the MUTE daBASS 1 construction kit holds 4 instruments. Bass, Guitar, Drums and Rhosed. there's 8 loops of each instrument in the same key, and with the same tempo, groove and style. The idea is that no matter how they are combined, the loops will fit. The combinations are vast, but I really had fun messing around with these kits.

There are many different sounds. The MysteryBox (soundscapes) are the most "odd" part, and the GrotBoxes are gritty Lo-Fi. If I should narrow it down, I'll have to say that the main keyword probably is: Funky Stuff, which I happens to like alot :-)

I have been playing and making music for more than 25 years now. I am a guitarist playing many different genres, but funk like T.O.P and blues the "Robben Ford way" are among my favourites. I own a project studio and have done a some jingles and soundtracks for short films over the years.

I use Nuendo 2 for most productions. This mini library came with files for HALion, NN-XT, Kontakt and EXS24. I use HALion, and were happy to find that there were files for both PC and Mac included. I have had trouble earlier loading some HALion files because of Mac/PC and version mismatch, but not this time :-)

I have been using this library for a little over a week now, and I'm still happy.

An Apple Powermac G5 with a MOTU 828mk2 is my core setup. For monitoring I use ADAM's P11A active speakers.

Was it worth the pricetag? Absolutely. It was just a $8,75 download including almost 100MB of loops in 5 different loop packs. Not exactly bad value for money.

Didn't really compare it to anything else. Hard to do anyway as it is pretty unique. Both soundwise (it's pretty raw, but I like it that way) and when it comes to the concept, which is actually quite original.
The main idea (I guess) is that each mix'nmatchbox comes with many different 1 or 2 bar loops for 3 or 4 instruments. Typically Drums, Bass and Guitar. Now all loops are variations, so in theory any 2 or 3 loops should fit each other. The combinations are vast, and I played around with the first box I opened for more than an hour. That doesn't happen every other day for me.

My favourite box is the PLAYdaBASS box. Really funky! And overall just about all loops are usable, at least to my taste and productions.

Each box is pretty specialized, and I guess that they all belongs to the funky/groovy category.
