Doing electronic music (with melodies! whee!) for 5 years, using CDXtract and/or Cool Edit Pro v2 to work with sample CDs. Primary listening equipment is.. duh. A pair of good headphones.

NO IT WASN'T WORTH IT.
I mean it, too. The webpage offered stuff thats "two blocks away from the early Aphex Twin vibe", well NO its not that. Heaps of loops, yes, inspiring? - no. They're just dull 126bpm stuff that isn't really useable. Sure the sound quality is there, but its rather annoying how almost everything sounds too sharp (=bad).
As for individual samples, well, I've got the audio cd (=OH NO. MORE SAMPLE CHOPPING. ARGH), and well, they're not that good. In fact, they're a bunch of weird percussion-type sounds, a lot of them sound really alike, and those effects sometimes applied can be done with like any decent sound editor.
So don't buy it unless you want to boast you've got the whole X-Static Goldmine collection. Its not worth it, really.
