Stainless Steel Shell. 6.5" x 14". Standard Tama throwoff. 10 lugs. Triple flanged steel hoop. Evans "Power Center Reverse Dot" heads on top. Finish is Black nickel hardware and brushed Black nickel shell.
The tuning range on this drum is amazing, you can get really high or really low sounds on this drum. It's a versatile drum.

the tone on this snare drum is great! It's tuning is so versatile that you can change the drum sound by changing the tuning. But it will always have that metal-y steel sound to it because that's what it is. I have not changed the heads on this drum yet because I haven't had to. This snare fits the sound of metal and rock drummers perfectly. This snare gets great volume and attack, partly because of the shear size of the snare (6.5x14). This drum's overtone are easily suppressed by the ring muffler that comes with it (basically and Evans E-ring).
The ring muffler actually came off while I was playing once and it still sounded great.

When I first got this drum, it didn't stay in tune very well, but I later found that it was the skin not the drum, I had forgotten that the skin on it was new and needed to be broken in. After the skin got broken in it stayed in tune and is still in tune. This snare holds up well under regular use. This snare is also well constructed with sturdy hardware.

This snare has performed very well in the real world. It is durable and sounds great for the price your paying for it. I've been playing for 6 years and I own a lot of other stuff on my kit. If it were lost or stolen I would definitely buy it again. I love the versatility of the tuning and the awesome black nickel look. This snare sounds and looks fantastic and for the price i got it new, it's even better.
