Tuning range is massive. Tones are a beautiful blend of natural highs, mids and lows. This drum loves to be cranked on the medium to tight head tension.
Beech wood is fantastic for drum material.
A hugely versatile drum for any musical style. Rim clicks are fabulous.
The hoops can get a little chewed up after a while... and any Yamaha accessory product will attract a premium price tag... so you need to weigh it all up.

A tour tough drum. But as mentioned above, the wooden hoops will not take as good a battering as metal hoops...so you may need to get a Yamaha endorsement or look to shell out for replacments after a while.
Having said that... the wood hoops are no stranger to a little pounding... they are simply not as robust as metal hoops.
But they complete the picture of charm to these drums.

A fabulous drum... great tones, materials and Japanese craftmanship. Attention to detail is very high, as with all Japanese drums.
I sold mine, and it was the saddest drum sale I ever had to make.
Would like another one...one day...
